MUSIC / VISUAL ART / INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES

About Stringfisher

Stringfisher is a solo experimental music and visual art project by Nak. Originating in Southport, England, and now based in Reykjavík, Iceland, the project combines electronic music, found sound, analogue textures and interactive digital experiences.

From Southport to Reykjavík

Stringfisher’s earlier UK work includes indie, alternative, dream pop and shoegaze influences. Those recordings remain part of the project’s history.

The route here ran from singing in the grunge band Not to making electronic music with a Roland MC-303 and an Amiga 500. A second-hand ukulele brought the strings into the picture. Stringfisher grew from bringing those worlds together.

Now based in Reykjavík, Nak brings together experimental electronic music, Trip Hop, minimal techno, ambient textures and found sound. Analogue aesthetics, visual art and interactive digital experiences are part of the same creative direction.

A visual world for the music

Stringfisher’s visual identity draws on analogue decay, CRT imagery and glitches. The artwork is part of the same conversation: a visual world for the music to live in.

The Point brings that world into an interactive browser game built around the four-track EP. The music and game share the same project identity.
