Stringfisher contributes vocals and lyrics to Nothing, a track featured on Dissonant Frequencies, the second solo album from experimental electronic artist Status Oblique, described by the artist as probably the final solo album under that name.

Built around a collision of distortion, atmospheric textures and melodic experimentation, the album draws inspiration from two influential records: Psychocandy by The Jesus and Mary Chain and Loveless by My Bloody Valentine.

Status Oblique also cites experimental artist Sara Stuttgart as an influence, particularly the mysterious, obscured and androgynous qualities of the music.

The album brings together a collection of songs developed over several years, finally released in their completed forms. Four guest vocalists contribute across the project, with Stringfisher providing the vocal and lyrical performance for Nothing.

The collaboration places Stringfisher within an extended musical landscape of shoegaze, noise pop, post-punk and experimental electronica — sounds that have also shaped Stringfisher’s independent work.
