Stringfisher Contributes to Status Oblique’s Dissonant Frequencies

Stringfisher appears on Dissonant Frequencies, the second solo album from Status Oblique, contributing vocals and lyrics to the track Nothing. Status Oblique describes the release as probably the final solo album under that name.

The album represents the culmination of material developed over many years, drawing from the abrasive noise of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s Psychocandy and the immersive soundscapes of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless.

Status Oblique also acknowledges the work of Sara Stuttgart as an influence, bringing a sense of mystery and obscured identity to the album’s musical inspiration.

Across the release, Give Them L on Regret, Kiti Capere on Grind, Stringfisher on Nothing and Jenn Zed on Darkness contribute lyrics and performances to their respective tracks. Mixing and mastering were handled by Almark — Studio SynthoElectro.

For Stringfisher, the collaboration adds another entry to an evolving body of independent music that moves between atmospheric melody, electronic experimentation and distorted sound.

Nothing is available as part of Dissonant Frequencies on Bandcamp.
